When I first heard we were having an Exhibition Night for sophomores I was half excited and half confused. I knew it was a big thing at our school because the sophomore class last year would always talk about it, but I didn’t know what actually went on. Now I know that our Exhibition Night project is a project about who we are, where we are going and how we are planning to get there. It’s a PowerPoint featuring slides about our grades and plans for high school, our dream college and our dream career. Also, we talk about how our internship will help us reach those goals. For instance, I want to go to law school after getting my 4 year degree and ultimately become an entertainment lawyer. My Internship will help me because I intern at The Education Law Center and there I get to see and learn about different aspects of law. For example, before my internship I didn’t know there was such a thing as education law. Now I know education law relates to schools, school systems and school boards, students’ rights and movements. So basically, I have around 20 different slides to present with about 10 minutes to do it. I do think that this project will be challenging because I have to find information from last year regarding my grades and behavior. I also have to present this in front of family, 3 school staff members, 3 peers and their families. The main issue is with presentation. I held a reading level that was 4 grades advanced since fourth grade but this is the time my imagination always decides to take a vacation. I hope with more practice I’ll get better at my presentation.

The rest of my project should go very well, though, because when it comes to my life plan I know exactly how I want things to map out besides choosing a college. I have been burning the midnight oil lately because although we first heard about it in September; it was kind out of my sight because it wasn’t due until May. Well ta da, May is here and I am only 25% done and it has to be wrapped up and ready to go by May 27. Plus school, finals, internship and Mentor Appreciation Night still have to go on. In the end I do think this project will be extremely interesting and helpful to me and other peers in really visualizing how we want our futures to pan out and setting goals to help obtain future success.
