On Monday, parents and students gathered in Harrisburg for a rally in the Capitol to support Gov. Rendell's education budget.  People from districts throughout the state described the importance of adequate state education funding, and described the negative effects that budget cuts have had on students' educational opportunities.

Governor Rendell and U.S. Senator Bob Casey also came to the rally, and encouraged legislators to pass the state budget with an increase in state funding for public education.

Here's a video from the event (great camerawork and editing by Sarah Bell):

Why is state funding important to your school district and community?  How have budget cuts affected educational opportunities for students in your area?  Is your district proposing further cuts?
